Holiday Gala on Roxbury’s Main

If you have ever driven down Roxbury’s Main Street, chances are you found yourself daydreaming about perusing through one of the grand dames that is poised along the maple lined passage of Roxbury’s historic district. Well, now is your chance as the MARK Project Inc lets “you be the judge” at the first-ever Haute Cuisine Cook-off in equally sumptuous surrounding of the historic and lovingly restored Roxbury Main Street homes of Bob and Jan Andersen and Adam Cohen.

Two teams of talented chefs will tantalize you with their top “tapas”—delicious small bites showcasing their finest culinary skills. Expertly selected wines and Ommegang’s finest brews will compliment each of the chef’s beautifully crafted savories. We’ll keep you in a bit of suspense over the next several weeks before we reveal the identity of our culinary teams, but expect a mix of hometown favorites challenged by ambitious up- and-comers with something to prove.

You’ll begin at one of the two historic sites, and after the first hours of indulgence, you’ll move to the alternate site for another hour of incredible edibles. The event will culminate in a Grand Champagne and Dessert Buffet at the Roxbury Arts Center where you can cast your vote for “Top Chef 2009” and enjoy the sounds of the season with the area’s well known songbird, Wendy Nief.  A silent and live auction will take place as part of this spectacular culinary event with proceeds to benefit the MARK Project Affordable Housing and Community Programs and local Community Holiday Charities.

Tickets to this inaugural culinary affair are limited so be sure to reserve early. Costs are $75 per person for the entire evening on Main or $25 per person for the Dessert Buffet at RAG. For more information or to make reservations contact the MARK Project at 845.586.3500
