Through funding from the NY State Department of State and Catskill Watershed Corporation, the MARK Project in collaboration with the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development is developing a regional economic revitalization strategy. It will help the rural Catskill Mountain towns of Andes, Middletown, Roxbury, Olive, and Shandaken and the villages of Fleischmanns and Margaretville capitalize on their natural, scenic, agricultural, and recreational assets as a common source for economic development. The project will result in an action plan that promotes village, hamlet and Main Street revitalization and enhanced access to waterways while protecting significant scenic and natural resources. Additional information on opportunities for public participation will be announced early in 2012.
