What we do

For more than 40 years the MARK Project has worked to build resilient rural communities. Our efforts extend across housing and economic development to food, tourism, farming, civic planning and downtown revitalization. We focus on the small towns of the central Catskills from Shandaken through to Bovina, serving Andes, Middletown and Roxbury as well as the villages of Margaretville and Fleischmanns.

Over this time we’ve become a model for creating interdependent communities, focusing not on one area but all the areas that build healthy, linked lives. No project is too small for us – or too large. We’ve helped fund planters on main streets and won major multi-million dollar grants. The MARK Project Inc. is a 501-c-3 not-for-profit, tax-exempt rural development company that unites efforts and secures resources to strenghten and revitalize our communities.

Contributions to the MARK Project are deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
