Just off Main Street, Margaretville’s village park already creates a natural amphitheater as the land rolls down to the Binnekill stream. The space, though, is frequented by more ducks than people. Working with stakeholders in the Village of Margaretville, MARK won funding to revitalize the park and realize it as an actual amphitheater. Soon it will be an intergenerational gathering place hosting concerts, theater performances, movies and social events. The venue will also serve as a catalyst to Main Street development. The park won’t simply enhance the landscape of a historic village, it will create a connective tissue for Main Street, tying together businesses on both sides of the stream and the park.
